Settle Festival of Story

When

01/08/2020 - 31/08/2020
All Day

The Yorkshire Festival of Story is just a few weeks away!
As Guest Director of the Festival, I’m impatient to share my excitement with you and to highlight some of the top events. This year’s online festival programme is the most diverse and groundbreaking yet, with over 80 events to choose from. And they’ll all be streaming for free online throughout the month of August.
Spaces are limited, so explore the festival programme now, and be sure to save your place early.

On August 1st, I’ll be discussing #Storytime and the traditional influence of music in stories, and you’ll get the chance to hear some of the orignal stories and songs that the band and I have recorded around A Pocketful of Crows and Honeycomb.

On August 2nd, you can join me for breakfast with Dame Jenni Murray and the Bronte Society, talking about the power of independent women throughout literature and history.

On August 8th, I’ll be discussing the importance and psychology of traditional tales with Ben Okri and Kevin Crossley-Holland.

And I’ll also be talking to a dear friend of mine, master chocolatier David Greenwood-Haigh, about the folklore, history and perennial appeal of chocolate.

This month-long online festival is accessible to all, with no geographical limitations. So, wherever you are in the world, check out the programme and secure your spot at the Yorkshire Festival of Story now!
